Corning cements strategic partnership with Computacenter with Pretium Partner Award

November 2010

Computacenter has been awarded Pretium Partner status by Corning, in recognition of its ability to deliver high quality datacenter and Local Area Network (LAN) cabling solutions.

Computacenter is now one of the top UK installers for Corning, with the partnership having grown by 80 per cent over the last two years.

Keith Sullivan, Marketing Director from Corning commented: "The combination of Computacenter's expertise and our innovative cabling products enables businesses to increase the scalability, functionality and reliability of their IT infrastructures. Computacenter shares our focus on forging strong customer relationships and delivering technical excellence, and was one of the first UK Pretium Partners in our Network of Preferred Installers (NPI)."

Corning develops, manufactures and distributes fibre, cable and hardware for telecommunications. The company invests heavily in research and development and was responsible for inventing the first low-loss optical fibre. Its solutions are designed to allow for easy and cost-effective upgrades to support growing bandwidth requirements.

To achieve Pretium Partner status – the highest accreditation available for Corning partners - Computacenter had to meet stringent criteria for technical and consultancy skills and demonstrate its capabilities in cabling design, implementation and support.
Adrian Foxall, Computacenter's Cabling & Network Director, commented: "We are delighted that Corning has recognised our commitment to delivering end-to-end cabling solutions that aid productivity and business agility while minimising cost. As a Pretium Partner, we will be able to provide more in-depth advice and services around Corning products, resulting in a higher and quicker return on investment for our customers."

From structured cabling and facilities management to datacenter audits and IIMS, Computacenter offers a wide range of cabling and infrastructure services to help customers build the connectivity foundations they need to enable their business and empower their workforce.

Keith commented: "We view Computacenter as an extension to Corning's customer-focused solutions, and plan to leverage our strategic working relationship in the future to ensure our customers achieve the maximum value from their Corning cabling infrastructures."
